As one of subdistrict in Ciamis Regency, West Java, Jatinagara has good potentials to be developed in any field due to its topology and climate. Its landscape can be used for many purposes such as farming and fishery. The climate itself is approximately 20°-30°C. Majority of the population use their terrains for agricultural fields and only some use them as fishponds.
Based on that fact, aquaculture can be developed for people’s sake. They can choose any kind of fishes such as gurami by using diversification pattern in the aquaculture. Gurami is one of fish people has interested in for their consumption. Seafood restaurant, hotels or domestic consumption are potential markets. Moreover if the farmer can maintain their fish quality, they can reach not only local market but also international.
Unfortunately, they have less information about the aquaculture. This can be handled by sending officer providing elucidation to the society and guiding them through the process. Despite of gurami aquaculture needs some times in its maintenance process, the result will be satisfying.
